Overview

The Professional Massage Therapist performs massage and bodywork based on their client’s needs.  The Professional Massage Therapist partners with clinic staff to ensure appointments are booked and to verify appointments.  He/She is responsible for providing excellent customer service to clients.

Qualifications

  • Minimum:

⁻           Diploma in massage therapy, or similar field from an accredited institution

⁻           Must be licensed as a massage therapist in the state in which this position exists

⁻           Proficiency in Swedish and Deep Tissue massage

⁻           1 year of experience performing massage therapy as a licensed therapist

⁻           Must carry personal liability insurance

⁻           Additional state requirements (Included only on posting as necessary)

  • Preferred:

-           2 years of experience performing massage therapy as a licensed therapist

-           Proficiency in multiple types of massage (i.e. Hot Stone, aromatherapy, reflexology, shiatsu)

Responsibilities

     Performs Professional Massages for Clients

  • Partners with clinic staff to develop schedule and ensure appointments are booked for massages. 
  • Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
  • Be accountable for the responsible use and cleaning of all equipment provided by the Massage Clinic that is used by the therapist.

      Provides Excellent Customer Service

  • Consults with clients to analyze and understand massage therapy needs
  • Consistently meets all assigned classes.
  • Maintains professional dress and demeanor.

     Professional Development

  • Remains current with developments within the massage therapy industry through memberships in professional organizations, seminars, workshops, and continuing education courses.
  • Regularly participates in professional development activities and provides documentation of these activities.

      Maintains the Clinic

  • Ensures the massage therapy room and all equipment are left in a clean and orderly manner upon conclusion of scheduled session.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean clinic and clinic equipment.
  • Conducts initial troubleshooting measures on equipment and promptly labels and reports all equipment in need of repair.
  • Orders supplies as needed by following school procedure.

      Complies with Policies, Procedures and Guidelines

  • Maintains client confidentiality of clients served.
  • Abides by all Federal, state, and accreditation/compliance rules and regulations.
  • Adheres to all applicable employee policies as outlines in the Delta Education System Employee Handbook.
  • Adheres to the Code of Ethics set forth by the state licensing board.
