Overview

Miller Motte Technical College in Columbus, Georgia is looking for an Admissions Representative for our growing Short Term Career Training programs.

 

 

The Short-Term Career Training (STCT) Admissions Representative is responsible for recruiting and enrolling students who are passionate, motivated, and committed to changing their lives through career education.  He/she consults potential students from all sources (e.g., high schools, the military, adult education centers, the general public, etc.) to encourage program participation and completion.  This position provides outstanding customer service to all campus constituencies including students, families, guidance counselors, teachers and employers. The incumbent must also be proficient in community outreach in order to develop and maintain effective external relationships. The STCT Admissions Representative also represents the campus (and the company) at student recruitment events.



Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree, or equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Prior sales experience

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales or business development
  • Experience with College Admissions, Student Services, or Career Placement departments

Responsibilities

I. Conducts Recruiting and Enrollment Activities

    • Attends Delta Education recruiting events (e.g., college fairs, career nights, etc.) to represent and market programs to prospective students.
    • Makes daily outbound calls to set appointments with prospective students to come visit the campus and discuss the program(s) of interest.
    • Consults prospective students on the benefits of the campus’ programs and services.
    • Assists with and attends orientation of newly enrolled students to ensure a positive start to their educational experience.
    • Establishes relationships with workforce development agencies, employers, high schools and possibly the military community to establish a pipeline of prospective students and employees.
    • When possible, leverages existing employer relationships via campus Career Services.
    • Generates quality referrals from both prospective and current students, and then follows up with referrals.
    • Conducts campus tours to showcase the campus’ offerings and to introduce prospective students to school administrators, faculty and current students.

 

II. Interviews and Builds Relationships with Prospective Students

    • Pursues prospective students to determine fit with respective program(s) based upon career goal compatibility.
    • Schedules and conducts interviews (in person, via phone or online) with prospective students to provide information on campus offerings and to discuss best program fit.
    • Accurately and completely describes educational programs and expected outcomes to prospective students and family members.
    • Discusses different funding options, as needed, with prospective students.
    • Conducts follow-up meetings with enrolled students, as needed, to help ensure successful program completion.

 

III. Prepares and Guides Students Into and During Program

    • Communicates with students via regularly scheduled one-on-one phone calls, letters, emails and other events to ensure that the potential enrollee is prepared to successfully start and complete the program of choice.
    • Ensures accurate documentation of all student interactions and conversations in CampusVue.
    • Meets or discusses with each student any prep material and required enrollment forms needed for a successful program start.
    • Provides coaching, advice, and motivates students throughout their program in order to increase completion rates and, subsequently, career success.
    • Assists in resolving issues and barriers (e.g., financial challenges, scheduling conflicts, personal issues, etc.).
